Test Original Elmer Crowell Pintail Drake
Elmer Crowell was an American icon in the world of waterfowl decoy carving. For decades he produced a body of work including hunting, decorative and miniature decoys that today are considered the best ever produced. Two of his decoys have sold privately for over one million dollars, and six of the top ten decoys sold at auction have been Crowells, the highest going for $830,000. We are proud to offer an original Elmer Crowell hunting decoy for sale. This is a slightly oversized pintail drake that was carved in 1912 and used as a working decoy. It has the shot holes and scuff marks to prove it, yet it still retains the magnificent colors and beautiful lines that Crowell created. The antique duck decoy is currently owned by Alan Haid, a well-known collector, author, appraiser, and consultant
